Show pigeons killed in arson attack at Treforest

Twenty five show pigeons have died in an arson attack on their shed, say South Wales Police.

The incident happened at Treforest, near Pontypridd, just before 19:30 GMT on Sunday.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the blaze was started deliberately.

Last month 150 racing pigeons died in an arson attack on their sheds on an allotment at Blaencwm, Treherbert.

The owner of the pigeons, Alun Smith, has been racing them for 23 years and said some were worth £1,000.
