Charles Street, Bridgend: Firefighters tackle blaze that killed dog

A pet dog has died in a house fire in Bridgend.

Four fire engines were sent to the two-storey terraced house and crews using breathing apparatus put out the fire on Charles Street on Tuesday evening.

Ian Greenman, the incident commander from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, said there were no other casualties.

The fire service helped rehome a man on Tuesday night and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
