Investigation after Wattstown kitchen blaze

One casualty has been taken to hospital following a kitchen fire at a house at Wattstown in the Rhondda.

Fire crews from Porth and Tonypandy were called to the scene at Bailey Street at 20:30 GMT on Sunday.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said a fire investigation was taking place into the cause of the blaze.

One male was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation and slight burns to his hands.

The fire was in a ground-floor kitchen at the two-storey terraced property.
