Watches worth £90,000 stolen in Rhiwbina, Cardiff

Watches worth £90,000 have been stolen during a burglary in the Rhiwbina area of Cardiff.

The haul of 24 watches included brands such as Bulova, Dunhill, Omega, Etienne Aigner, Maurice Lacroix and Tag Huer.

Officers think the thieves - who struck between 10:45 and 18:00 GMT on Friday, 14 December - may try to sell the watches as Christmas gifts.

"The owner is naturally devastated by this burglary," said Det Con Richard Fenton from South Wales Police.

"Given the time of year, with Christmas Day just around the corner, the people responsible might be trying to sell these watches to make money or even give them as Christmas presents to friends and family.

"These valuable watches are distinctive and I would ask anyone who is offered one for sale or given one as a gift to contact us immediately."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cardiff CID on 02920 527 420 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
