A teenage boy has been released on bail following the death of a seven-year-old boy who was hit by a car on a south Wales caravan park.

Tony Coffey was struck by a BMW 3 series estate at the Shirenewton site, east of Cardiff, at about 15:00 GMT on Saturday.

The teenager was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Police are appealing for a group of children who may have seen the incident to come forward.

Tony was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff where he later died.

His family is being helped by specially trained officers from South Wales Police.
