Still pictures have been released showing the man covering the camera moments before he attacked it.

British Transport Police (BTP) say it was "wanton vandalism" at Cwmbran in Torfaen and appealed for anyone who knows him to come forward.

The vandalism happened just after 21:00 GMT on Thursday, 15 November.

The man in the footage is believed to be in his early 20s, around 5ft 8in (1.7m), of medium build, with short, dark hair, and wearing a dark jacket and light trousers.

PC Debi Rouse said: "A man was seen to cover the lens of the CCTV camera in the shelter on platform one before proceeding to damage it.

"This is nothing other than wanton destruction carried out by a person who clearly has no respect for their surroundings or the property of others."
