Elderly Porthcawl man in hospital after burglar assault

A man in his 90s is in hospital after he was attacked by a burglar he found in his home.
South Wales Police say the householder disturbed the intruder - who is in his early 20s - shortly after 18:00 GMT on Friday in the Danygraig area.
He was knocked to the floor by the burglar and suffered a head injury. He remains in hospital after treatment as a precaution.
Police have issued a description of the burglar and appealed for information.
The attacker is described as white, about 5ft 6in (1.67m), and was wearing a woollen hat, a grey fleece top and dark trousers.
Officers want anyone who saw someone of that description or others behaving suspiciously in Danygraig on Friday evening to contact them.
