Amelia Jones Amelia Jones's father said she had brought him joy

A 43-year-old man and 24-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of murdering a baby girl in Cwmbran have been released on bail pending further inquiries.

The ambulance service alerted Gwent Police after attending to one-month-old Amelia Jones at an address in the Pontnewydd area on Saturday.

She died at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, on Monday.

Amelia's father Ian Skillern said his "beautiful daughter" would be "sadly missed".

He said she "brought me joy in the short time she was here".

"My family and I wish to assist Gwent Police in any possible way to establish why this tragedy occurred," he added in a statement.

"We ask to be left as a family to grieve at this hard time."
