Maesteg hit-and-run collision leaves two injured

Police are appealing for witnesses after two pedestrians were seriously injured in a hit-and-run collision.

The man and woman were hit on Hermon Road, Caerau, Maesteg, at about 02:20 BST on Saturday by a dark coloured Rover car which failed to stop.

The woman suffered serious head injuries and is critically ill at the Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend.

The man suffered back injuries and was released after treatment. Police say the driver involved has been traced.
