Merthyr: Man, 19, critical after Gurnos car crash

A 19-year-old man is in a critical condition with serious head injuries after a car crash in Merthyr Tydfil.

It happened on the Gurnos ring road at 03:50 BST on Saturday, said South Wales Police.

The man was in a silver Vauxhall Corsa with two other male passengers, who are being questioned in police custody.

The car hit a boundary fence at Pen-y-Dre High School. The man is being treated at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.

Any witnesses, or anyone who can provide information about how the car was being driven beforehand, is asked to contact police on 101 or 029 20222111, extension 42323.
