Cwmbran murder: Police given more time to question suspect

Detectives have been given more time to question a 39-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder after a body was found in Cwmbran.

The dead man, believed to be in his 40s, was found at an address in Maendy Way, Pontnewydd, after police were called at about 10:00 BST on Friday.

Police say they have yet to formally identify the body or establish the exact cause of death.

They have renewed their appeal to anyone with information to call 101.

Further tests will be carried out on the body to establish the cause of death as a post-mortem examination proved inconclusive.
