Cwmbran: Police identify canal body at retail park

Gwent Police say they have identified a man whose body was discovered in a canal in Cwmbran, Torfaen.

Officers say they are not treating the death as suspicious and family have been informed.

The body was found in a canal next to the Lockgate Retail Park off Cwmbran Drive on Saturday.

Police were called at around 09:25 BST after a member of the public found the body.

Officers issued an appeal for help in identifying the man, who was believed to be in his 60s.

It is believed the man had not been in the water for longer than 24 hours.
