Newport: Body found after search in River Usk

River Usk, Newport Gwent Police recovered a body from the River Usk in Newport

Police say a body has been found after a search of the River Usk in Newport.

Emergency services were called to George Street Bridge at 10:00 BST on Saturday, after reports a man had fallen into the river.

Gwent Police said that a body, believed to be the man who fell, was found a short distance down stream on Saturday afternoon.

Anyone who has any information or who may have witnessed the incident has been asked to call Gwent Police on 101.
