Yaseen Ali Ege murder trial jury discharged

Yaseen Ali Ege Seven year old Yaseen Ali Ege died from his injuries

The jury in the trial of a woman accused of murdering her seven-year-old son has been discharged after failing to reach a verdict.

Sara Ege, 33, denied beating to death Yaseen Ali Ege at their home in Pontcanna, Cardiff.

Jurors at Cardiff Crown Court were also considering the case against his father Yousuf Ege, 38, who denied causing his death by failing to protect him.

Prosecutor Ian Murphy indicated there would be a retrial.
