Police are taking no further action against two Welsh rugby internationals arrested following an alleged assault at a nightclub in Cardiff city centre.

A 26-year-old man needed stitches for a facial wound after the incident early on Sunday, 26 February.

BBC Wales learned that Cardiff Blues' Tom James and Ceri Sweeney were arrested with two other men and bailed.

South Wales Police said after advice from the Crown Prosecution Service, no further action would be taken.

The alleged assault took place outside the Tiger Tiger club.

Sweeney played the last of his 35 Tests for Wales in 2007, while James has won 10 caps since 2007.
