Five taken to hospital after house fire in Abergele

Five people have been taken to hospital following a house fire in Conwy.

Six crews from Rhyl, Colwyn Bay and Prestatyn were sent to Ffordd y Morfa, Abergele at about 11:00 BST.

The blaze, which spread into the roof space, was brought under control more than two hours later.

North Wales Fire and Rescue said the casualties were taken to hospital as a precaution. The neighbouring houses were also evacuated.

Firefighters are now damping down at the house.

An investigation into the cause of the fire has begun.
