Fell runner airlifted from Snowdon

A fell runner has been airlifted from Snowdon after developing chest pains while on the mountain.

The man was carried down the 3,560ft (1,090m) mountain by members of the Llanberis Mountain Rescue team to Clogwyn rail station.

The alarm was raised during a running event on the mountain at 06:47 BST.

He was transferred to the RAF Valley Sea King helicopter and taken by air to hospital in Liverpool for cardiac treatment.
