Inquiries continue into cause of Dolgellau explosion

Police are continuing their investigations into the cause of an explosion which seriously injured a man at a house in Dolgellau.

A forensic investigation of the home at Fro Heulog is being carried out following a blast in the back garden at about 18.25 BST on Sunday.

North Wales Police are yet to interview the injured man, who is being treated at a specialist unit in Stoke-On-Trent.

His injuries are said to be serious but not life-threatening.

DCI Iestyn Davies said: "The investigation is at an early stage and we are working with specialists to try and identify the cause of this explosion.

"Minor damage was caused to items in the rear yard of the property but no damage was caused to adjoining buildings."

"This is very much an isolated incident but I would welcome any information from the public in Dolgellau about what happened," he added.
