Boy, 12, cleared of rape at Colwyn Bay school
A boy has been cleared of raping a fellow pupil at a primary school in Conwy.
He was accused of carrying out the rape in the toilets of the Colwyn Bay school after watching pornography online.
The 12-year-old, who was 10 when the incident was said to have taken place, said the incident never happened and denied looking at pornography.
The Mold Crown Court jury also found him not guilty of incitement to engage in sexual activity.
During the trial, the court heard that in March 2012, the complainant was spoken to by teachers following rumours in the school about his sexual behaviour.
It was during this time he made the allegations to teachers.
The matter was then reported to police.
During police interviews, the defendant admitted he had been mean to the complainant but had not bullied him.
He also said he had never asked him for sex, nothing sexual had happened between them and he only asked him out as a joke.
