Six held in Bangor on burglary suspects raid

Six people have been arrested in Bangor by detectives investigating a spate of burglaries at commercial premises across Gwynedd and on Anglesey.

North Wales Police said the former hospital in Minffordd, on the outskirts of Bangor, was searched on Wednesday.

Those held were living in caravans located on the site, police said.

Up to 25 officers took part, including search teams, detectives and forensic experts, and a number of vehicles, caravans and property were seized.

Det Con Steve Watts said "This was a planned operation in response to a number of burglaries where commercial premises were targeted.

"Six suspects have been arrested and are currently being questioned at a local police station.

"A thorough search was undertaken and suspected stolen property was recovered."
