Search for man missing in rough seas off Pwllheli, Gwynedd

A search for a missing 49-year-old man which involved coastguard teams and an RAF rescue helicopter has been taking place in rough seas off Gwynedd.

Police called for assistance after a car was found parked on the promenade at Pwllheli on Friday night and the search continued until lunchtime.

Holyhead coastguard, lifeboats and a rescue helicopter were involved but nothing has been found.

Police have not yet given any information about the missing man.

Holyhead coastguard said its searches started at about 04:25 GMT on Saturday and sweeps of the area took place from Abersoch to Criccieth. The last search was completed at 13:30 GMT.
