Woman rescued from house fire in Old Colwyn, Conwy county

An elderly woman has been rescued by firefighters from a house blaze in Conwy county.

She was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd after the fire broke out upstairs at a property on Mill Drive, Old Colwyn, shortly after 04:00 BST on Wednesday.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said the bathroom was severely damaged and there was smoke damage throughout property.

The woman was downstairs at the time of the fire.

Her condition is not known.

The fire service is investigating the cause of the fire
