Hurt man found on Gwynedd beach after search

A lifeboat and land search was launched in heavy rain by Holyhead coastguard after a woman was heard shouting that she had lost her husband.

The hunt began at about 22:45 BST on Sunday when a camper near Morfa Bychan, Gwynedd, heard the woman's cries.

As Criccieith RNLI lifeboat searched, a 999 call was received from someone who heard the man shouting for help.

A Coastguard team found the man with a head injury on Black Rock Sands. He was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd at Bangor.

The incident was brought to a close at about 00:30 BST on Monday.
