Man trapped in clothes recycling bank at admits attempted theft

A man freed from a clothes recycling bin on Anglesey has admitted to attempted theft.

Cristinel Mironescu, 29, got stuck in the container near the Bull Inn at Amlwch on Tuesday morning.

Appearing in front of magistrates in Caernarfon, he told the court through a translator that he "only wanted a pair of shoes".

It took the fire service 15 minutes to free him. He was fined £100, waived after a night in custody.

The defendant, who lives in Manchester but is originally from Romania, pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted theft.

A second man received a police caution in relation to the incident.
