Ogwen Valley fall: Inquest opens into death of Andrew Taylor

An inquest has been opened into the death of a man who fell 300ft (90m) from a snow-covered mountain in Snowdonia on Good Friday.

Andrew Edward Taylor was 38 and from Ashton-under-Lyne near Manchester.

He fell at a location known as Senior's Ridge on Cwm Cneifion, about 2,500ft (750m) high on Glyder Fawr in the Ogwen Valley.

Mountain rescuers and Snowdonia National Park wardens said conditions in the mountains were hazardous.
