Two PCSOs cut free after Plas Gwyn road crash

Two police community support officers (PCSO) had to be cut free from their car after a collision with a lorry near Pwllheli in Gwynedd.

The injuries suffered by the male and female PCSOs are not life threatening.

The lorry driver, who was unhurt, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

The incident happened on the A499 at Plas Gwyn at midday on Wednesday, and the pair were flown to hospital in Bangor by an RAF rescue helicopter.

The two officers were in a Ford Fusion car returning to their local police station after a training session.

The road was closed for some time and police are appealing for witnesses.
