Four more people have been arrested by police investigating the suspicious death of a 42-year-old man at a flat in Bala, Gwynedd.

North Wales Police say officers have been given more time to continue to interview a 23-year-old man on suspicion of murder after an incident at 17:40 GMT on Saturday.

Police said they made the four arrests early on Monday.

The victim has been identified but his details have yet to be made public.

Police say the man is eastern European and they want to ensure his family has been informed.

A police statement said: "During the early hours of this morning four further people, three who are local to Bala and one further east European, were arrested in connection with assisting an offender and are currently being interviewed at a local police station.

"The man arrested on suspicion of murder appeared before Prestatyn magistrates this morning where a warrant of further detention will allow police further time questioning him."

Police said that man, who is also east European, was arrested on Saturday evening at a nearby address.

The coroner for north west Wales has been informed.
