Remembrance service in Caernarfon with new name on cenotaph

Help

A Remembrance Day service has been held in Caernarfon where the name of a local World War Two soldier has just been added to the cenotaph.

Private Hugh Pritchard, from Llandwrog, was added after a campaign by his family who say he is not named on any memorial in the UK.

His nephew Nefydd Davies laid a poppy wreath during the service and said he was pleased to finally see his uncle's name on the memorial.

Ex Royal Air Force officer Ronald Kirk also attended the ceremony in the town's Castle Square.

He said it was important to always remember those who had sacrificed so much.
