Barmouth harbour mud rescue for Staffordshire man

A man aged in his 70s had to be rescued by coastguards after becoming stuck in mud up to his knees at Barmouth harbour in Gwynedd.

The crew used boards and mud rescue equipment to pull the Staffordshire man to safety on Wednesday afternoon.

A boy who was with the pensioner managed to free himself to raise the alarm.

The man was checked by paramedics at the scene.
