A woman in her early 30s has died in a two-vehicle road crash in Gwynedd, says North Wales Police.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the A4244 at Deiniolen, near Llanberis, on Saturday afternoon.

Two other people were injured and were taken to hospital, but police said their injuries were not thought to the life threatening.

It is understood a Land Rover and second smaller vehicle were involved in a head-on collision.

Police said one person had to be cut free from one of the vehicles by firefighters following the incident at 13:20 BST.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said crews from Caernarfon and Llanberis were sent to the scene.

Witnesses are asked to contact North Wales Police on 101.
