Location map

Three climbers have been rescued after getting stuck nearly 500ft up a mountain in Snowdonia.

Two women and a man got their rope jammed while preparing to abseil back down Idwal Slabs on Saturday night.

The trio, aged between 28 and 31 and from Nottingham, were taken to safety by the Ogwen Valley mountain rescue team.

A rescue team spokesman said: "It was dark so they wisely called for assistance."

They returned on Sunday to retrieve their rope.
