Lifeboat rescues camper van two on Menai Bridge slipway

Two people have been rescued from a camper van after it became submerged by the tide in the early hours.

Beaumaris lifeboat was called at 00:35 BST on Saturday to a trailer park near a slipway at Menai Bridge, on Anglesey.

Due to the high tide rescuers were able to get the lifeboat right up to the van before the two inside opened a door to board the vessel.

They were taken ashore before being treated by paramedics for the effects of shock and cold.
