The Reverend Paul Davies named Archdeacon of Bangor

The new Archdeacon of Bangor has been named as the Reverend Paul Davies.

He is currently serving in the diocese of St David's, Pembrokeshire, where he is the vicar of Burry Port and diocesan director of ordinands.

A married man and Welsh speaker, he will take up his position next year.

Announcing the appointment, the Bishop of Bangor, the Rt Reverend Andrew John, said: "Paul is an exceptionally able priest who brings energy and experience to this office."

He added: "He has recently completed a challenging rebuild in Burry Port and has demonstrated that parishes can grow when they are well resourced and have a clear vision for the future.

"I am delighted he is joining our team and look forward to welcoming the family early next year."

Mr Davies will also be minister to the Anglesey congregations of Llanfair Mathafarn Eithaf, Llanbedr-goch and Pentraeth.
