Two schools four miles apart from each other in Denbighshire have reopened as one following a merger.

Ysgol Carreg Emlyn was created following the amalgamation of Ysgol Clocaenog and Ysgol Cyffylliog as part of a wider review of primary schools in Ruthin.

Infants pupils will be based at the former Cyffylliog building, with the junior students at Clocaenog.

A new single school to house all pupils could be built in future.
