Ruabon house fire: Woman charged with arson

A woman has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life after two children were rescued from a burning house.

Neighbours helped a girl aged 10 and a seven-year-old boy from the fire in Ruabon shortly after 05:00 BST on Wednesday.

North Wales Police said a 30-year-old local woman is due to appear before magistrates in the town on Friday.

A joint investigation with the fire service has been launched.

The children were taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital as a precaution after suffering from slight smoke inhalation.

Neighbouring houses in Wynn Avenue were evacuated but North Wales Fire crews stopped the blaze spreading any further.
