The event has seen dancers from the Ukraine and Russia perform alongside each other.

Organisers said dancers from 28 countries around the world had, so far, performed at the festival.

Among them, the Barvinochok folk dance group from Kiev, Ukraine, shared the stage with the City Children's Choir from the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk.

Attending the festival on Friday, Mr Jones, Conservative MP for Clwyd West, said: "This was a very significant event and shows what an important role the eisteddfod plays in fostering international understanding."
