The family of a man killed after crashing his car in Denbighshire has paid tribute to him.

Pharmacist Gary Ratcliffe, 41, from Manchester, died in the one-car crash on the A55 at Rhuallt Hill, on Sunday.

His mother Eileen and sister Bernice said Mr Ratcliffe was a "wonderful son, brother and uncle, who had lots of friends".

Part of the westbound lane will be shut for a few days while repairs are carried out.

His family added: "He was a friendly hard working person who was very good at his work.

"Gary was a larger than life character who lived life to the full and he will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him."

A second man suffered minor injuries in the incident, which happened at about 17:30 BST.

Sgt Jane Thomas from North Wales Police said drivers should find an alternative route while repairs are carried out. Witnesses should call 101.
