Tributes have been paid to a second motorcyclist killed in a crash involving a car and six motorbikes on Sunday.

Stephen Hill, from Widnes, Cheshire and Nigel Davies, 48, from Penyffordd in Flintshire, both died following the collision on the A5104 at Pontblyddyn near Mold.

Five other people were injured and taken to hospital.

Mr Hill's family said he was "a gentle giant who will be sorely missed".

He was a father of three who loved music, a passion he shared with his partner Diane, said his family in a statement on Tuesday.

"Steve was an outstanding HGV driver, instructor and assessor who accompanied his father Jimmy on trips from the age of six and used to say 'I had the best teacher, my Dad,'" the statement added.

"He made friends everywhere he went and was always the life and soul of any gathering with his witty sense of humour and larger than life personality. He was a gentle giant who will be sorely missed by many."

'Wonderful'

Tributes have also been paid to the other crash victim, Nigel Davies.

Speaking on Monday, his family said they were devastated by the death of a "wonderful husband, father and friend".

He worked for Shotton Paper Mill for 25 years and was said to be "well liked and respected".

The incident took place just before 13:00 BST on Sunday, involving seven vehicles - including a Vauxhall Meriva and three motorcycles travelling in the direction of Pontblyddyn and three motorcycles travelling in the direction of Penyffordd.

North Wales Police said that of the five people taken to hospital, three - the female car driver and two male motorcyclists - have been discharged having received treatment for non-serious injuries.

The two other motorcyclists remain in hospital with serious injuries, one in Wrexham, the other in Stoke, Staffordshire.

North Wales Police say an investigation into the crash is continuing.
