Cleaner filmed stealing from woman, 100

A cleaner was filmed taking cash from the handbag of a 100-year-old woman after her employers became suspicious and set up CCTV cameras, Flintshire magistrates heard.

Nicola Holden, 35, from Talacre, was given a 12 month community order and told to complete 50 hours unpaid work after she admitted theft at the woman's home in February.

Magistrates said it was a serious breach of trust on a vulnerable woman.

She must also pay £100 compensation.

Prosecutor Matthew Ellis said that the film caught Holden "red handed" taking money from the victim's handbag on February 17.

Defending solicitor Damian Sabino said Holden, who has since been sacked, was full of remorse for what she had done.
