Woman dies after car and van crash near Llandegla

A woman has died after a van and a car crashed near Llandegla in Denbighshire.

Emergency services were called at about 12:30 GMT on Sunday to the roundabout at the junction of the A5104 and A542.

The female driver of the Ford Fiesta was pronounced dead at the scene and a female passenger was flown to hospital in Stoke with serious injuries.

The Mercedes van driver was taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital with minor injuries. Witnesses are asked to call North Wales Police on 101.
