Llandegla hit-and-run: Arrest after A525 death of man

A man has been arrested following a hit-and-run in which a man died.

Stefan James Bowdley, aged 31, was killed after he was struck on the A525 in Llandegla, Denbighshire, near The Plough pub at about 23:00 GMT on Wednesday.

Detectives say a man from the area is in police custody.

North Wales Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them on 101 or the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

Police were called and found the man with critical injuries and the force said it was "currently investigating the possibility the man's injuries were the result of a hit-and-run road traffic collision".

Sgt Gwyndaf Jones of the Roads Policing Unit, said Mr Bowdley was found on the A525 road at Llandegla about a quarter mile west of the Plough.

"Although another local man has been arrested in connection with the incident we are still appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or has any information concerning it, to contact the Roads Policing Unit by phoning 101."
