Pedestrian, 17, dies after New Year collision at Gwersyllt, Wrexham

A 17-year-old pedestrian has died in hospital after a road incident at Gwersyllt in Wrexham early on New Year's Day, say police.

He was walking on Mold Road when he was involved in a collision with a Volkswagen Polo at 00:37 GMT on Tuesday.

He was taken to Wrexham Maelor hospital where he later died.

An investigation into the cause of the incident is under way.

North Wales Police said witnesses should contact the force on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
