Inquest after factory death at Morgan Technical Ceramics

An inquest has been opened and adjourned after the death of a maintenance supervisor at a Wrexham factory.

Chris Williams, 51, from Acrefair, Wrexham, was fatally injured at work at advanced engineering firm Morgan Technical Ceramics, Ruabon, on Monday.

The company says its thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues.

Officials say they are co-operating with an investigation by police and the Health and Safety Executive.

A post-mortem examination gave a provisional cause of death as severe crush injuries.

Acting north east Wales coroner John Gittins opened and adjourned an inquest to a later date.

A company statement said Mr Williams had worked for the company for 15 years.

"We will ensure that the circumstances surrounding this incident are fully understood and all possible measures taken to prevent further such incidents in the future," it said.
