Police investigating the murder of missing Flintshire vet Catherine Gowing are searching a water-filled claypit at Buckley.

North Wales Police said an underwater team began searching Trap Pool - a popular angling spot - on Wednesday.

Ms Gowing, 37, from New Brighton, near Mold, vanished on 12 October, and parts of her body have since been found.

Clive Sharp, 46, from Bethesda, Gwynedd, has been charged with her murder.

The new search area is a short distance from where Ms Gowing's burnt-out car was discovered, and the search is expected to continue for the rest of the week.

She last seen alive leaving an Asda supermarket at Queensferry on October 12.

Some of her remains were later found at Sealand and on the banks of the River Dee near Chester.
