John Yates admits wife 'body in boot' manslaughter

A man charged with murder after his wife's body was found in the boot of a car outside a police station in July has admitted her manslaughter.

John Yates, 57, of Warrington, appeared via video-link at Caernarfon Crown Court for a seven-minute hearing.

Mr Yates denies murdering Barbara Yates, 49, at an unknown location, before she was found outside a police building at St Asaph in Denbighshire.

A trial date has been set for February. Mr Yates was remanded in custody.

Judge Merfyn Hughes QC adjourned the case until 3 December.
