Woman airlifted after falling off horse in Pentre Halkyn

A woman was airlifted to hospital after falling from a horse in a quarry in Flintshire.

The incident happened near Pentre Halkyn, close to Holywell, on Sunday afternoon.

Paramedics were called to the scene, but the woman was airlifted to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd in Rhyl by an RAF rescue helicopter from Valley on Anglesey.

She was taken to hospital to be examined, but her condition is not known.
