Stansty Road rail tunnel closed in Wrexham for works

A well-known minor accident trouble spot in Wrexham is closed to make way for a new one-way system.

The narrow Stansty Road rail tunnel is used as a cut-through by motorists in and out of the town centre.

Wrexham council is making the road one-way in a six-week trial to try and improve access for pedestrians.

The road has been closed for three days from Monday to allow a wider temporary footway to be built ahead of the trial on 27 September.
