Woman, 87, spent night trapped in car after Cwm crash

An 87-year-old woman spent the night trapped in her car after it rolled off a road and ended up on its side.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident at Cwm, near Dyserth, Denbighshire.

North Wales Police said the pensioner was found at 07:00 BST on Monday in her VW Polo car, and she was taken to hospital.

The extent of her injuries is not known, but they are not thought to be life threatening.

Insp Martin Best said that the collision occurred overnight between Sunday and Monday on a back road towards Rhuallt from Cwm Woods.

"The vehicle is believed to have overturned on its side and an 87-year-old woman has been taken to hospital where her injuries are not thought to be life threatening but not known at this time," Insp Best said.

"We were called at just after 7am this morning and we are now appealing for any information and witnesses who might have seen the incident to come forward."
