Rhyl cyclist seriously hurt in collision with van

A cyclist has been taken to hospital with serious leg injuries after a collision with a van in Rhyl.

Firefighters used airbags to free the 25-year-old rider, who had become stuck underneath the transit-type van.

The incident happened in Vale Road just before 13:00 BST on Monday. The rider's injuries were not life-threatening.

Paramedics attended and he was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. North Wales Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 101.
