Two police officers have been given final written warnings after being caught allegedly having sex while working the night shift.

Det Insp Diane Davies and PC Tommy Swales were suspended from police duty last year as part of an internal investigation by Dyfed-Powys Police.

The pair had been based in Powys and will recommence their duties soon.

An independent panel chaired by an officer from another force issued the written warnings.

"Dyfed-Powys Police can confirm that two officers who were suspended from duty pending an internal misconduct investigation have been issued with a final written warning," a spokesperson said.

"The decision was made by an independent panel chaired by a chief officer from another police force. The officers will recommence their duties in due course."
